About Sara Berliner

Award-winning producer, creator, curator, strategist, and mentor, with a focus on multiplatform storytelling and experiential media. Catalyzed by a Harvard degree in Folklore & Mythology and Visual Studies, I’ve created work and experiences for early childhood through grownup audiences-Led creative studios of writers, illustrators, animators, designers, and performers-Wrote, edited, and produced dozens of books, scripts, websites, apps, recordings, and live shows-Developed and executed content plans for diverse revenue streams and business models-Built brands and consumer product licensing programs from the ground up-Negotiated hundreds of contracts around IP rights, co-development, partnerships, and talent-Partnered in story development and content licensing with major media companies, envisioning new paths for their characters and launching them into new formats and marketplacesI founded and ran the Children\'s Program of a TV festival in New York, and I created Chicago\'s first puppet theater festival, overseeing all aspects of the 10-day festival with shows from around the world throughout the city. I also assistant-directed theater by directors like Mary Zimmerman and performed as a puppeteer.As Chief Strategy Officer of Night & Day Studios, home of worldwide bestseller Peekaboo Barn, and VP at ScrollMotion, one of the first major app developers, I told stories with the likes of DreamWorks, Disney, Scholastic, Mattel, Sesame Street, Warner Bros, the Harry Potter film team, Highlights for Children, National Geographic, Nickelodeon, the NFL, Todd Oldham, Julianne Moore, Simon & Schuster, Penguin Random House, and Candlewick Press. I’ve spoken at Harvard and conferences globally on topics like multiplatform storytelling, how to have a successful relationship with your creative studio, how to build a licensing program for an indie children’s property.At Star Farm, the media company I co-founded, I originated and/or led development on dozens of entertainment properties for books, TV, theater, digital, toys, games, and branded products.In 2020, I helped James Ruben start Hellosaurus, an interactive video platform, and a show I created won KidScreen\'s Best Original Digital Series award. I also co-founded Kinspire to improve families’ lives around the US.
