I am responsible for responding to media enquiries, securing coverage and working to maintain the reputation of UBS Asset Management and its senior leaders. In this role, I: • Write, proof-read and approve news releases, staff quotes and publications such as The Annual Report • Work on speeches, video scripts and articles for leaders including Suni Harford and Nasreen Kasenally • Ensure accuracy, correct grammar, find interesting ‘pegs’, remove jargon, and ‘translate’ into plain English • Build relationships with our PR agency staff but also challenge them to ensure high standards • Liaise with marketing teams and business staff to clarify details, find stories and add ‘colour’ • Organise interviews with key publications, brief senior/expert staff, monitor and provide feedback • Meet relevant journalists to build rapport, learn about their ‘beat’ and discover what excites them • ‘Own’ the news page on the revamped Asset Management website, ensuring function and compliance I am also on two voluntary boards: • As the Communications Lead for the gender equality network, All Bar None, I overhauled our online presence and staff newsletters. I wrote an article for the global intranet and organised International Women’s Day 2021, and produce videos of our senior Male Allies. • I am a trustee for Hackney CVS, an umbrella organisation working to achieve equality in London. I suggested the board should have a youth member to better reflect the local community.
