ABOUT SARA STAR VILLALON
After almost nine years in the marketplace lending industry, Sara joined Ares Management as an Associate Vice President in May 2022. She will be working in the Private Equity Finance, Accounting and Operations group of Ares Management. In 2017, Sara co-founded Pier Asset Management, a California Registered Investment Advisor who facilitates access to alternative lending industry for institutional investors. The women led firm manages private funds, separately managed accounts, and custom solutions providing investors experienced fiduciary oversight in this attractive short duration credit asset class. Prior to Pier, Sara was a Research Associate with Evolution Capital Management. Sara joined the investment team of the Evolution Income Funds in 2013 with responsibilities regarding technology support, loan servicing, platform analytics, and risk management. She holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
