About Sara Sciammacco
Sara is a leading strategist in advocacy communications and marketing. She is currently the Vice President of Communications and Marketing at Ceres, a nonprofit organization focused on sustainability. She is responsible for leading a dynamic team and a wide range of digital and media activities that have helped to expand Ceres\' influence and position as a national and global brand. Sara has coached major institutional investors, Fortune 500 corporate executives, and nonprofit CEOs on ways to promote their sustainability leadership.In addition to her role at Ceres, Sara is in charge of communications for the world\'s largest investor initiative on climate change, Climate Action 100+. She also leads communications for the Investor Agenda, the premiere global investor initiative driving the economic transition towards a just and sustainable future. Before joining Ceres, Sara was the Vice President of Communications at Environmental Working Group (EWG), an environmental health organization raising awareness about toxic chemicals in U.S. food and consumer products. She also worked for eight years in television and radio news broadcasting in top media markets, with her last stint as a political reporter covering the U.S. Congress for public radio stations. Sara joined One Green Thing as a board member in 2021 to draw attention to the mental health impacts of the climate crisis. Aside from her professional pursuits, Sara is also passionate about promoting equality in sports and is a competitive pickleball player and former college soccer player. She is a proud graduate of the University of Maryland — College Park.
