The way I see it, the measure of a good day is still gauged by the dirt on my pants. I’ve always believed in getting out there, getting my hands on the work, and immersing fully in the experience — whether that’s on a job site (sealant stains, concrete dust), at my desk building a QAQC dashboard (coffee stains), in the field coaching teams through a tough commissioning milestone, or out hiking the trail (inevitable tree sap stain). There’s no better way to understand, lead, and improve this industry than to be in it — sleeves rolled up, learning constantly.I’m a Director of Construction Quality & Risk with nearly two decades of experience leading mission-critical construction, regulated environments, and high-performance building sectors. I’ve built and led QAQC programs across sectors including data centers, nuclear-safety-related work, healthcare, and high-performance buildings, with a focus on aligning field execution with commissioning, integrated systems testing, and owner turnover-readiness.Over the years, I’ve learned that the best quality leadership is about trust, collaboration, and driving field-first ownership — not just compliance checklists. I lead teams, coach project leadership, and build scalable programs that reduce risk, drive continuous improvement, and enhance both client trust and company culture.My work has included- Building and scaling QAQC programs across diverse portfolios- Leading commissioning and turnover readiness efforts- Training and mentoring Quality Managers and project teams- Developing risk-based QAQC tools and field-friendly processes- Driving root cause analysis and continuous improvement- Leading field investigations and resolving complex project issues- Partnering with commissioning agents, validation partners, and owner reps- Driving cultural change around field quality ownershipI’ve also had the privilege to contribute as a speaker and thought leader at industry conferences (Advancing Construction Quality, NAIOP), serve as Chair of the MBA Green Builders Group, and help develop the first ASQ Construction Quality certification exam — because I believe this industry needs more pathways to build and recognize true quality leadership.If you’re looking for someone who can bridge field and executive levels, build a scalable, field-respected QAQC program, and lead with both grit and heart — I’d love to connect.
