As a Climate Action Fellow for the City of San José, the third largest city in California, I directly support the City\'s ambitious goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030 through community engagement, public education, and strategic communications.I develop and implement outreach strategies to promote residential electrification, a key emissions-reduction priority, and presented on related incentives and rebates during a City Hall Brown Bag session using insights from the City’s emissions inventory.I track and analyze activity in the California State Legislature to help shape Climate Smart’s policy positions on proposed environmental bills.Using Airtable CRM, I manage the program’s network of individual contacts, community partners, and organizations, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration.I led the analysis of 2024 engagement metrics to inform the next phase of GoGreen Teams, a community-based outreach initiative, and helped launch the 2025 phase with targeted engagement.In the spring of 2025, I developed and led stakeholder webinars for public comment on the Climate Smart Plan update. The plan utilizes new metrics and data to track the city\'s carbon neutrality goals, incorporating new elements like prioritizing and expanding natural lands. After webinars, I followed up with details on specific stakeholder questions on the city\'s stance on emerging and existing data centers, land use, BAAQMD Electric Appliance Mandate, residential incentives, and San José Clean Energy Power mix. Based on stakeholder feedback, I made direct recommendations to implement feedback into the updated plan.Additionally, I manage San José’s Induction Cooktop Checkout Program, analyzing 2024 program data and recommending strategies to increase resident awareness and participation.
