About Sara Jarrar
I work across the full ecosystem of education, from classrooms to data systems to donor tables, connecting the micro realities of teaching and learning with the macro goals of policy and development. My work sits at the intersection of program design, monitoring and evaluation, and education in emergencies, driven by a commitment to expand access and improve quality for children and youth in crisis-affected contexts.Over the past six years, I’ve worked across NGOs, schools, and research institutions, managing multi-donor projects, contextualizing curricula, building M&E frameworks, and strengthening teams to deliver inclusive, localized education programs. I’ve contributed to projects funded by USAID, QFFD, UNICEF, and the Arab Fund for Development, and collaborated with partners such as UNICEF, IRC, and Islamic Relief to design and evaluate early childhood and non-formal education interventions. At the University of Pennsylvania, I’m completing my M.S.Ed. in International Educational Development with a certificate in Early Childhood & Family Studies, focusing on impact evaluation and data-driven program improvement. My academic and professional work are deeply intertwined, grounded in evidence, guided by context, and sustained by the belief that education can be both a system of care and a vehicle for change.
