Founder of Women for Conservation, whose mission is to empower and partner with women around the globe to protect endangered wildlife and their habitats. Since 2004, Women for Conservation has directly benefited and empowered over 8,500 women and children by providing access to conservation education, sustainable economic opportunities, health clinics, and family planning. Develop and implement projects focused on women in rural communities across high biodiversity regions of Colombia, Nepal, Sierra Leon, and Madagascar primarily around Important Bird Areas and Key Biodiversity Areas. Involving women in conserving these important sites has helped their protection and reduced threats to endangered species. Developed partnerships with grassroots organizations to implement projects with women in rural communities. Designed and implemented projects that assist conservation, environmental education, health, and family planning workshops and materials, and promote environmentally sustainable economic livelihoods to complement conservation.
