ABOUT SARA DESERAN
Based in San Francisco, Sara has worked in many facets of the food and hospitality industry. Her hands-on experience at a restaurant group she helped grow provided her with a blood-sweat-tears understanding of the business.(And made her a much more empathetic food writer.)Sara spent over 15 years as a magazine editor San Francisco magazine and 7x7 and has contributed to publications such as Bon Appétit, Gourmet, Eater, Sunset and Saveur. She is the author of four cookbooks and has had her work selected for multiple Best Food Writing anthologies. Today she works as an editor-at-large for the San Francisco Standard and pens a weekly column called Off Menu. She travels to eat and is always plotting her next dinner.
