About Sara Continenza
I am passionate about promoting social justice and reducing health disparities of underserved community members all over Northeast Ohio. I started Food Strong to support health equity, food access, environmental stewardship, community beautification, and economic development. I strongly value partnerships, and bridging the gap between bottom-up and top-down approaches to affecting social change.In 2017, I was elected to the position of Ward 3 Councilwoman in the City of South Euclid, Ohio, where I continue putting my passion to work. I founded Food Strong in 2018 in order to serve as an umbrella for my school garden and Care-A-Van community wellness programs. We educate and empower our communities through fresh, local foods. We offer school gardens, culinary arts classes, wellness programs including Care-A-Van and the Care Strong Project, and we support youth entrepreneurship.
