ABOUT SARA BARDHAN
I am an urban anthropologist + assistant professor of sociology. My research—situated at the intersections of urban studies and critical theory—revolves around questions of cities, spatial justice, embodiment, social reproduction, and worldbuilding using qualitative methods rooted in progressive praxis. I am particularly interested in interrogating the unique ways in which we make sense of the city and the embodied, emplaced and experiential practices of the urban working-class habitus.I write for domestic + international publications like Firstpost, India Development Review, and The Wire. In my free time, you can catch me learning a new language, reading Sartre or taking pictures of my cat :)
