About Saptarshi Sarkar

Growing up, I dismantled every toy at sight in an attempt to know how and why they work and then rebuild them back as they were before. Some toys came back to life; some did not. But those broken toys did not end my spirit to know more; it only made me more precise with the next ones. Eventually, I reached a stage in life where I had to choose a path for my career and interestingly, those Hot-wheels and Beyblades helped me decide the field of study for my Bachelor\'s Degree. In 2016, I joined Lovely Professional University to pursue my B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering. Aside from my curriculum, I joined LPU-SAE Collegiate Club to apply my theoretical knowledge into practical applications. During this time, I became proficient in different CAD modelling and analysis tools; AutoCAD, Solid works, ANSYS, Catia to name a few. Now those Hot Wheels had converted into Go-Karts but, only this time, I had the required knowledge and tools, and I would say I achieved decent success. Finally, in 2020 I was awarded the Bachelor\'s degree. In 2019, I got an offer from Lutron Electronics for a one-year internship. While Lighting and shade control seemed a slight mismatch from my area of specialization, that curious part in me kept encouraging me to accept this opportunity, and I am convinced it was the right decision. I was offered the full-time opportunity in 2020, and I immediately recognized what it presented - Analyze problems and Design solutions - something I often did during my Go-Kart days. I am still a part of this family, and I am privileged to harness diverse thought processes and opinions from Project Managers, Clients, and Teammates to create innovative solutions that meet the desired goals. My mentors always guided me with this quote \"We don\'t grow when things are easy; we grow when we face challenges.\" Well, I agree there is some truth to it as the technical and emotional hurdles I have faced in recent years have skilled my teamwork, Problem-solving, decision-making, leadership, and Public speaking capabilities. But I firmly believe you should also have a strong \"Can do\" attitude to face those hurdles. Therefore, facing obstructions, when backed with optimism and self-belief, motivates you and enlightens you with skills you may not learn otherwise.
