Senior Lecturer in Finance and Corporate Governance at the University of Surrey, where I also serve as Faculty Transnational Education (TNE) Lead and Director of Global Mobility. My work focuses on international education, corporate governance, and responsible capitalism.Before joining academia, I spent sixteen years with Daiwa Securities in Tokyo and London, most recently as Senior Economist and Executive Director of Research. Fluent in Japanese, I specialised in market analysis, corporate strategy, and governance.I am the author of Stakeholder Capitalism and Corporate Governance in Japan, exploring Japan’s distinctive approach to stakeholder engagement and sustainable enterprise. I also contribute to leadership and executive development programmes at the Møller Institute, University of Cambridge.
