Head of Lifelong Learning, Wandsworth CouncilResponsible for: Adult Education, Apprenticeships, the Wandsworth Education Business Partnership, intervention programmes for young people who are NEET and other work which supports disadvantaged communities- Significant experience of developing and implementing strategic plans to improve participation and achievement across the lifelong learning range- Leading a team of 30 direct staff, part-time tutors and a number of commissioned providers responsible for co-ordinating programmes for over participants- Securing and managing a budget to fund local education and training priorities. The work of the section is funded entirely from external sources: the GLA, DWP, direct income and several smaller grants- Effective partnership working in local, regional and national partnerships.Chair of the Wandsworth Lifelong Learning Development Group. I am an active member of several regional and national groups associated with learning and skills. Working closely with Lifelong Learning London Central, which includes the other central London boroughs delivering Adult Skills - I am a member of the BEST Board (Business and Education Succeeding Together), the Education Business Partnership for Wandsworth. I have worked directly with the Chair for a significant number of years but became a trustee of the charity in August 2024.I am a qualified member of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development.
