Replacement of one LIRR railway bridge structure, rehabilitation and retrofit of two additional LIRR railway bridges, and replacement of one vehicular roadway bridge over the Van Wyck Expressway. Scope of work for this project includes, but is not limited to: clearing and grubbing, geotechnical investigative work, borings, shoring/SOE, micro-piles, demolition, asbestos and lead abatement, rebar, concrete, precast deck slabs, structural steel, bearings, deck waterproofing, bridge drainage, site utilities and drainage, asphalt pavement, milling, fencing, guiderail, curb and sidewalk, line striping, signage, electrical ITS and lighting, retaining walls, trucking, landscaping, MPT, and other trades typically associated with this type of work. Work includes coordination with various utility stakeholders for relocation to accommodate proposed substructures. Utility owners include ConEd, National Grid, DEP Water, DEP Sewer, NYCDOT Department of Street Lighting, DOT ITS groups, Altice USA, Verizon, MCI, Capline Kennedy, and Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) utilities. LIRR utility work for both mainline 1/3 bridge and double-decker bridge include signal cables, wayside signal equipment, power cables and traction power infrastructure, and track structure drainage systems.
