About Sankha Subhra Mullick

I currently work as a Senior Researcher with the Advanced Technology Group of Dolby Laboratories. I joined the position in the spring of 2023 and since working on multimodal and speech foundation models and related application focussed innovations. Before that, I was a Senior Software Engineer - Machine Learning at LinkedIn as a part of the Trust Data Platform and Foundation team, since summer of 2021. During this time I mostly worked on NLP focused on content moderation applications.I have completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Indian Statistical Institute. My primary areas of research are Machine Learning and Deep Learning.My initial research works were mostly focused on developing novel variants of classical and deep classifiers tailored for handling data irregularities such as class imbalance. I am also interested in topics like few-shot, meta-learning, deep generative models, adversarial attacks, robust models, and occasionally visiting the theoretical side of things. Another past but prominent direction of my research focused on developing variants and novel applications of evolutionary optimization algorithms especially differential evolution.
