About Sanket Mhaskar
Ph.D. student in Chemistry at Stony Brook University, working at the intersection of nanomaterials, environmental remediation, and data science. My research focuses on developing cellulose-based hydrogels and cryogels for arsenic and heavy-metal removal, combining experimental adsorption studies with molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to understand interactions at the atomic scale.I build automated scientific tools using Python: XRD analysis pipelines, adsorption isotherm/kinetics modeling, BET & thermal analysis workflows, TEM nanoparticle size detector, and interactive Streamlit apps. I also develop AI systems for scientific safety and knowledge retrieval, including a chatbot trained on hundreds of SDS documents.Passionate about reproducible research, computational chemistry, and scientific automation, and how coding can accelerate experimental science. Always open to conversations about materials science, data-driven research, or even the cosmos.
