WORK HISTORY
Graduate Research Assistant @Iowa State University - College Of Engineering
US
At ISU, my PhD research focuses on developing multimodal AI systems that integrate vision, language, and large-scale connected-vehicle data. I work at the intersection of Generative AI, Vision-Language Models, and Cloud Computing, applying cutting-edge methods to transportation and safety analytics.Key Projects & Contributions:Multi-Frame Grid Perspective for Traffic Video Captioning & VQA– Designed multi-frame pipelines for 4,200+ high-resolution traffic videos; fine-tuned LLaVA-1.5-7B and Mistral-7B for structured captioning and context-aware VQA.Artificial Dawn (GAN-based Night-to-Day Translation)– Developed a CLIP-guided CycleGAN, reducing nighttime vehicle detection bias by >40% and improving AADT estimation accuracy to within -5.6%.ReactorIQ (Real-time Safety & Incident Detection Platform)– Built full-stack AWS ETL pipelines (EC2, EMR, Glue, Athena, Amplify) handling 200M+ records/day; integrated workzone analytics with physics-informed neural networks; deployed React dashboards for agency use.Intelligent Traffic Safety Monitoring– Scaled YOLOv11-based detection from 100 to 500 cameras with DeepStream + AWS Cloud; integrated a VLM-based sieve for higher-level incident interpretation.
