About Sanjeev Sharma

I am fascinated by the field of intra/intercellular signalling and have 12+ years of research experience in developing and analyzing principles by which information is encoded and communicated in biological systems. My doctoral research work focussed on the regulation of cellular insulin response by signaling lipids called “Phosphoinositides”. As a postdoctoral researcher, I develop and use microscopy assays spanning live and fixed cells, tissues and organoids to quantitatively analyze and discover mechanisms that co-ordinate processes such as cell cycle, differentiation and metabolism in adipose or pancreatic islet cell types. I enjoy integrating inter-disciplinary approaches to gain new insights and a quantitative understanding of the general principles in cellular signalling and its impact on physiology. I am a curiosity-driven, self-motivated and organized individual who has the ability to pursue goals as a team member within diverse groups and takes pleasure in acquiring new skills.
