ABOUT SANJEET VARMA

I am a Fashion & Textile Design and Performing Arts Educator with professional experience spanning both the design industry and higher education. Currently pursuing a PhD (Part-Time) at Atlas SkillTech University, Mumbai, I bring a strong academic foundation supported by a Master’s in Performing Arts (Theatre Arts) and a Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design from NIFT Hyderabad.My journey bridges industry practice and academic leadership. I have worked as an Assistant Professor at reputed institutions including Atlas SkillTech University, National Institute of Design (Andhra Pradesh), Woxsen University, and Dhruva College of Fashion Technology, where I have taught Foundation, Communication Design, Textile & Apparel Design, and Fashion Design. Beyond teaching, I have contributed to curriculum design, academic structuring, jury evaluation, institutional administration, and the organization of workshops, webinars, and fashion shows.In the industry, I have served as Assistant Design Manager at Raymond Ltd. and as a Designer at NSL Textiles, developing seasonal shirting and textile print collections for menswear and womenswear. My work has included international market research in Milan, Florence, and Venice, fabric development coordination with mills, photoshoot direction, and visual design. Earlier, my graduation project at Satya Paul earned the “Best Graduation Project” and “Most Creative Collection” awards at NIFT Hyderabad.My practice integrates textile and apparel design, communication design, visual storytelling, theatre, and film. I believe in fostering an open, honest, and supportive learning environment where students feel valued and appropriately challenged. As a creative professional, I am detail-oriented, goal-driven, and committed to encouraging imaginative thinking while bridging design education with real-world application.
