Sanjay Bansal is widely regarded as having a hawk’s eye for detail and the ability to connect with clients through honesty and empathy. Focused and attentive, Sanjay worked full time in the finance industry while putting himself through law school. A native of Los Angeles, California, Sanjay is the son of immigrant parents. He has litigated throughout federal and state courts as well as administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Department of Fair Employment & Housing (DFEH) and in front of the California Labor Commission.He brings a unique blend of practical experience to Golden State Employment Lawyers, having defended actions across the United States and overseas in Germany in his capacity as Judge Advocate for the United States Army Reserve since 2009. He was promoted to the rank of Major in 2017. Through his military service, Sanjay has served as lead defense counsel in numerous actions involving soldiers accused of misconduct (successfully receiving defense verdicts) in matters including allegations of sexual misconduct, fraud and narcotics. He has received several awards, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.Prior to co-founding Golden State Employment Lawyers, he co-managed the Los Angeles office of a large national law firm.Sanjay has prevailed at trial and in multiple hearings including administrative decisions. “Super Lawyers” has consecutively named Sanjay a Southern California “Rising Star” in the area of Employment Law, an honor awarded to less than 2.5% of all attorneys in the state. Sanjay has served as a speaker, panel member, moderator, and employment subject matter expert across the country. In addition to being an attorney, Sanjay is a licensed real estate broker and notary.
