ABOUT SANJAY PANDEYA
Dr. Sanjay Pandeya, the Medical Director of the Multi-Care Kidney Clinics, Peritoneal Dialysis and Home Hemodialysis, and currently the elected Incoming President of the Canadian Society of Nephrology, joined Halton Healthcare as a Staff Nephrologist in Oakville in He has been providing care to the communities of Oakville, Milton, and Georgetown. He has been also serving the Burlington community since that time and has been on Staff at Joseph Brant Hospital since 2009. He completed his medical degree at the University of Ottawa in 1995, and received his RCSPC certification in Internal Medicine and Nephrology training at the University of Western Ontario in After assuming his role at Halton Healthcare in Dr. Pandeya has been instrumental in expanding Nephrology care throughout the region. Having served in various committees and administrative bodies within the hospital and region, a home peritoneal dialysis program was approved in 2005 and has grown substantially over the years. In 2010, home hemodialysis was approved for Halton Healthcare. Both of these programs are under the Medical Directorship of Dr. Pandeya. Dr. Pandeya provides care at the Burlington satellite unit, which was opened in 2009 to provide hemodialysis services closer to home to patients in Burlington with end stage kidney disease who are suitable for care in this out-of-hospital environment. It was in November 2009 that Dr. Pandeya initiated in-patient consultations at Joseph Brant Hospital, which now has robust 24/7 Nephrology coverage and the ability to provide acute dialysis in the Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Pandeya acknowledges and highlights the fact that Nephrology care is a team effort and enjoys and embraces working with his other physicians, nurses, allied health, and administrative team members in fostering and evolving the delivery of timely, accessible and optimal care to patients in the Region.
