ABOUT SANJAY KUMAR

Sanjay is a seasoned new media journalist, ghostwriter, media educator, keynote speaker and a Google certified fact-checker, who has vast experience in writing compelling content, driving innovation, and devising high-impact commercial strategies. His multi-faceted career spans across top-notch media organizations, including Times Group, NDTV, Hindustan Times, India Today Group, Microsoft, where he served as the Managing Editor of Microsoft News, a UK-based international finance magazine, where he was Editor-in-Chief, Geospatial World, where he excelled as Senior Vice President & Managing Editor. Sanjay’s multiple responsibilities include mobile product and social media strategy and operations management, nurturing partnerships with global brands, vendor management and relationship-building skills. His notable achievements include spearheading the creation of a dedicated homepage for the US audience at timesofindia.com, which later paved the way for the US edition launch. Orchestrating a distribution deal with Xiaomi at Microsoft, resulting in substantial user acquisition and earning him the Impact award from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Leveraging data insights to understand evolving reader behavior and content consumption, while also implementing AI and ML automation processes for MSN. Playing an important role in transforming ndtv.com into India’s premier online news destination. Sanjay’s educational background includes a postgraduate degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University and a law degree from Delhi University. He has also completed courses in Digital Journalism (offered by Reuters and Facebook) and Digital Marketing (offered by Google). His written work, including interviews and op-ed pieces, has graced the pages of leading Indian and global publications such as Outlook, Bloomberg, IANS, Caravan, Gulf Today, timesofindia.com, hindustantimes.com, newspapertoday.com, and Today. His articles have featured in over 25 Alexa-ranked publications. He has also actively contributed to the NHforEV project, writing blogs and creating multimedia content related to e-mobility. Sanjay is a dedicated educator with over 25 years of experience collaborating with prestigious journalism institutions. He serves as an Adjunct Professor at Jamia Millia Islamia and as a Visiting Professor at IIMC, in addition to being a Roving Faculty member at various journalism schools across India.Before transitioning to journalism, he taught History at Delhi University. Sanjay is a UGC-registered Professor of Practice and has successfully cleared the NET conducted by the UGC.
