About Sanjana K.

Hello, I am an energetic and optimistic student. I am a graduate student at Southern Methodist University and pursuing a Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling. I’m specializing in child and adolescent counseling. I am aspiring to become a future counselor or therapist who can provide therapy sessions with clients. I worked as a Registered Behavior Technician at Beyond the Behavior over the summer. I also graduated from UT Dallas with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology in 2024. I’ve made sure to gain exposure to the field of mental health by interning at private counseling clinics like Community Counseling Associates and Turner Consulting & Therapy Services. I also volunteered at Children’s Health hospital to shadow play therapy sessions. I also worked in research for sometime. For over a year, I have been assisting in a research lab at UT Dallas called the Couples Daily Lives Lab, run by Dr. Karen Prager. I have gained crucial lab skills like learning how to record, code, and clean data, interview couples and studying relationship dynamics.

   Providing 1-on-1 ABA therapy to children who have autism and special needs, to help teach them developmental, social, behavioral, school readiness, movement and daily living skills- Using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to implement discrete trial training and NET sessions- Receives supervision and feedback from supervisors - Takes constant data and notes during each child’s ABA session- Working around 25 hours a week in the clinic- Working with various age ranges, including babies, toddlers, and elementary school age.
