ABOUT STEFANO SANFILIPPO
Leveraging a solid international network and a proven ability to connect complementary partners, and drawing on my experience working in multicultural environments where I use English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish on a daily basis, I play a proactive role in shaping project ideas, structuring competitive consortia, and translating strategic visions into funded research and innovation initiatives.I am actively engaged in the ideation, development, and writing of proposals supporting sustainable transitions at both national and European levels, as well as under various other funding programmes. I coordinated the development and writing of PEDAID3, which was successfully awarded ([https://dutpartnership.eu/projects/pedaid3](https://dutpartnership.eu/projects/pedaid3)). In addition, I contributed to the preparation of the awarded projects H2B-Impact, CIRCUIT, and AVANGUARD (Grant Agreement numbers to be provided, as the projects were recently awarded on 2025).I have contributed to several European-funded projects, including ProBono (Grant Agreement No. 10•••••75, H2GLASS (Grant Agreement No. 10•••••53, https://h2-glass.eu/), and Exploit4InnoMat (Grant Agreement No. 10•••••39, https://exploit4innomat.eu/), as well as to additional EU, national, and industry-driven initiatives such as SIIP – Sustainable Intelligent Industrial Planning, among others. Moreover, as a Senior Project Engineer at STAM, I develop digital twins and complex system models using multi-method simulation approaches, including agent-based modeling, system dynamics, and discrete event modeling. My work focuses on the energy, logistics, supply chain, and transport sectors. This technical background enables me to contribute comprehensively to proposal preparation, from technical concept development and methodological design to budget planning and overall project structuring.Previously, I spent 6 years at EIFER, the R&D department of EDF in Germany, working in a multicultural environment. My experience spans energy systems, hydrogen technologies, and micro-grids in remote areas, all of which align with my PhD research on AI-driven electricity demand estimation in isolated regions.
