ABOUT SANDY COBURN

I’m a fine art photographer creating immersive, emotionally resonant images that explore our connection to landscape, wildlife, and the architecture of memory. Based in Scotland and working internationally, I produce limited edition prints, commissioned visual stories, and licensed imagery for galleries, collectors, and values-aligned organizations. My work is divided across four specialties: • Landscape photography — vivid, surreal terrains shaped by glaciers, color, and scale. I seek out otherworldly spaces that evoke awe and stillness, particularly glacial waters and remote ecosystems. • Wildlife photography — intimate portraits that reveal the quiet wonder of animals in their natural environments. I photograph ethically, working in the wild or through conservation-focused reserves. • Cultural photography — detailed studies of historically significant places, including architectural design, symmetry, and day-in-the-life street scenes. These images honor place through attention to form, color, and cultural context. • Editorial photography — story-driven visual narratives that capture people with dignity and purpose. This work grew from my career in strategic communications for global development and is now offered as commissioned storytelling for cause-based organizations. I frequently direct local video crews and conduct interviews to build full suites of visual materials. While my editorial foundation began through USAID, the majority of my fine art portfolio was produced independently — planned, scouted, and captured using the same skills I once applied to humanitarian fieldwork. That independence, paired with a deep commitment to ethical storytelling, informs every project I take on. Portfolio, commissions, limited edition prints & licensing: sandycoburnphotography.com
