ABOUT SANDYA KARNAD DEVIAH

I am a communications consultant with the World Bank\'s Prosperity vertical, which works in 120 countries and supports clients in building the economic, financial and institutional foundations for inclusive and sustainable growth. I am experienced in management, writing, technical communication, developmental editing, strategy, digital engagement, analytics, training, and journalism.Previously, I was Senior Manager, Technical Communications, for Cloud Solutions at Cisco. My team and I developed and delivered world class user documentation for cloud products. We worked with globally distributed teams, in an Agile environment. I have worked with various multi-national companies to provide technical communication tailored to the needs of their customers in the pharma and banking sectors. At the School of Meaningful Experiences (SoME), I trained executives on SoME\'s Six Cs communication, confidence, curiosity, creativity, collaboration & competence. I taught founders/co-founders from IIMB\'s NSRCEL startup incubator how to pitch. I was, in turn, ignited by their energy and passion to solve problems for society. My early career was with English daily newspapers (The Indian Express, Sunday Mid-Day), where I worked as a news reporter/feature writer, and later as sub-editor. Besides news, I covered health, consumer education, and human interest stories focused on women and children, generating several hundred articles and by-lined specials over 4+ years. I have volunteered my industry experience to train college students in Global English, Technical Communication and other professional skills. I am excited by technology. I enjoy the written word. I value the power of teams, and believe that we are stronger together. I continue to remain amazed by this world we live in, and learn from each unique experience every day.
