ABOUT SANDRO MINA

I began working in the search fund space 30 years ago. Soon after completing our MBAs, three friends and I launched Sverica International, which was initially based on the search fund model. We set out to buy profitable recurring/repeat revenue businesses, adopt operating roles, and improve and grow them. Through Sverica, I acquired Cameraworld.com, a catalog business selling cameras and camcorders nationwide, and sold by its retiring founder. I took on the role of CEO and managed the company’s transition online alongside a world class team. We ultimately exited the firm to a group of private equity funds that included Bain Capital, Greylock and TCV. Following the exit, my business partners and I pivoted Sverica into a traditional buyout fund. Concurrently, I began individually investing in search funds. In 2013, I launched Relay to begin investing in searchers and their target companies institutionally. To date, I’ve had the privilege of working with and investing in hundreds of search funds and search fund-sourced companies.
