ABOUT SANDRA REHM SMITH
I’ve always been drawn to the challenge of building something that truly serves people. Whether I was designing new customer solutions in the corporate world or developing transformative academic programs today, my goal has remained the same: to use strategy and innovation to create a positive, lasting impact. In my current role at Brown University, I feel fortunate to support our broader academic community. As Dean of the School of Professional Studies and leader of the Division of Master’s and Professional Programs, my work is centered on ensuring that our nearly 40 master’s programs and executive education offerings; and the students within them; have the strategic and operational support they need to thrive. For me, it isn’t just about overseeing a division; it’s about collaborating with departments across the university to build pathways that help professionals reach their next peak.My perspective is shaped by a mix of corporate strategy from my time at BCG and Charles Schwab, but it is fueled by a commitment to servant leadership. This same drive for service carries over into my work within our community. I am proud to contribute to the redevelopment of my city of Providence, as a member of the I-195 Commission and a trustee of the Wheeler School.I am always happy to connect with fellow learners, strategists, and anyone passionate about how we can work together to design a better future for the next generation of talent.
