ABOUT SANDRA HEEP
I am a Professor of Chinese Economy and Society at Bremen University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Previously, I worked as a senior policy advisor in the G20 Project of the German Federal Ministry of Finance. Before that, I headed the research program on China’s economy and its financial system at the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS). I was also a lecturer in Chinese Studies at the University of Freiburg, a research fellow at the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA), a visiting fellow at the German Institute of International and Security Affairs (SWP) and a visiting fellow at the Institute of World Economics and Politics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) in Beijing. I received my PhD in Political Science from the University of Trier and my Master\'s degree in Philosophy, Political Science and Psychology from Technical University of Berlin and Free University of Berlin. My research focuses on China\'s role in global finance, China\'s political economy and the official ideology of the Chinese Communist Party. I have spent two years living and doing research in China and am fluent in Mandarin.
