Perform histories and physical examinations, discharges, inpatient consults, and daily rounds on complex cardiology patients in collaboration with cardiology physicians.• Order and interpret diagnostic testing including EKG, device checks, nuclear stress tests, 2-D echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, TEE, Holter and event monitors, CT calcium scoring, and Cardiac MRI; formulate and carry out treatment plans based on results and clinical picture.• Order cardiac catheterizations, TEE, and cardioversion procedures when appropriate and review cases with the performing physician prior to procedures.• Recognize risk factors and assist with immediate stabilization of cardiac emergencies/acute decompensation including ACS, cardiogenic shock, pulmonary edema, and dysrhythmias in both the acute and critical care settings in collaboration with supervising physicians; coordinate care with Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology teams, and Critical Care physicians along with interdisciplinary providers when appropriate.• Assist in the perioperative care of invasive intervention patients including: Impella, PCI, LINQ, and CABG patients collaboratively with performing physicians; maintain up-to-date knowledge of protocols and recommendations regarding heart failure management, DAPT, anticoagulation, potential complications, and guideline directed medical therapies. • Formulate treatment plans in the acute care and outpatient care settings, provide thorough documentation, patient education, and post-hospital follow-up; coordinate care with the interventional Cardiologist, Cardiothoracic Surgery team, Electrophysiology team, and CHF team.
