Currently, works with The Financial Express, as Assistant Editor. He writes/reports on Indian agriculture and food security. He was associated with Indian Council for Research in International Economic Relations (ICRIER), New Delhi as Senior Consultant for 4 years (20••••21). He has carried out research on efficiency of agricultural value chains in dairy, fruits and vegetables. Current assignment includes tracking the prices movements (market sentiments & real time demand and supply scenario) of key agricultural commodities including pulses, vegetables and livestock products like chicken meat, eggs and milk. He writes extensively on issues relating to agriculture and food security. He has been writing for The Financial Express, a leading business daily from Indian Express group since 2008. He contributes write up periodically to leading publications and journals. He travels extensively across the country and abroad for understanding critical challenges faced by farmers and the agriculture sector. He has received UNDP- Niti Ayog media fellowship on ‘Decentralised Planning’ in 2015. In 2014, he received South Asia Climate Change Award (SACCA) media fellowship for writing features on impact of climate change on agriculture. He has also been recipient of Panos fellowships (supported by Michael Bloomberg foundation) on reporting on issues concerning tobacco crop in 2010 and 2011. He has worked with mainstream media organisations such as - Press Trust of India, Business Standard, Down to Earth magazine (published by Centre for Science and Environment) and The Financial Express in his career spanning across two decades. He had been a Research Consultant & Consultant (Knowledge Creation & Publications) at the Verghese Kurien Centre for Excellence, Institute of Rural Management (IRMA), Anand, Gujarat. His focus of research was on the functioning of dairy cooperatives (created during Operation Flood) besides pursuing research on issues concerning the dairy sector. He holds Masters Degree in Political Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He has conducted lecture sessions at institutes including Institute of Food Security, Gurgaon, Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida. He conducts regular classes or talks on media and agriculture at various institutes affiliated to Indian Council for Agricultural Research.(ICAR).
