ABOUT SANDI H.

Leading others to \"make connections\" makes my heart sing. Whether it is connecting individuals at similar stages of life or coming alongside young people and leading them to make pieces fit together so that a concept is understood; I find joy in the journey. Raised by first generation immigrants to America, I often felt different than my peers. Finding common ground with those around me became second nature. I still find that it is not as hard as we often think to find commonalities with those who seem so different and whether it is in a classroom setting, adult small groups or peer teams; I still think starting with similarities allows everyone to \"have a place at the table\". As a child I always wanted to be a teacher. That dream came true and I loved seeing the \"a-ha\" moments in students. My personal love for learning and for inspiring others to continue learning and growing is something that has never waivered. Being able to work with adults and inspire and challenge them to continue thinking, dreaming and reaching for more has become the basis for my leadership style.
