My passion is the development and commercialization of breakthrough instrumentation and services for Life Science, Materials Science, and Semiconductor manufacturing. I have led the development of a series of best-in-class products that enabled new research and science. Their commercial success transitioned my career to business and executive management. As its President I transformed Gatan from technology to market driven, built an extremely successful Life Science business segment, and achieved industry-best-in-class financial performance (revenue, GM%, EBITDA%) ultimately resulting in Gatan’s sale to Ametek for $925M. 2/3 of Gatan\'s revenue at the time of sale was from products launched in the prior 3 years. Taking over early in the COVID pandemic, I stabilized and completely rebuilt Ionpath, raised over $50M in funding, and drove many much needed product improvements and the development of AI-based real-time spatial phenotyping (introduced at SITC 2022).
