ABOUT SANDALI THIRANAGAMA

I am a recent architecture graduate who is willing to broaden work experience alongside architectural learning to understand a wider range of human behaviour which will most certainly be beneficial directly to my field and for my personal development. I acquired BSc.(Hons.) in Architecture with a first class from Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), Sri Lanka, affiliated with LJMU. Following my Bachelor\'s, I joined BGJF Consultancy Services (Pvt.) Ltd. As an integral part of my internship, I was exposed to both concept and detail design and was fortunate enough to work as a member of an architectural design team under the principal architect’s direct supervision. After one year of working, I immediately started my Master\'s at Liverpool John Moores University as I was awarded the LJMU Chancellor\'s scholarship, which I completed successfully with a merit award. I am very passionate about design and research and competent in using software such as Autodesk Revit, Autodesk AutoCAD, Lumion, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign.Further exploration through research and design has made me look into the untapped potential to serve the unseen and unheard at large through architecture. Therefore, my true desire lies in the lines of solving socioeconomic, environmental and climatic issues in means of architectural connotations. I value the presence of a good company and find socialising as a great way to learn, unlearn and relearn the human behavioural patterns that are often overshadowed by materialism. Being the sketcher that I am who document even the simpler moments through words and scribbles, I believe that a sketch, a write-up or a simple model can pave the pathway to a greater cause and I cherish every opportunity that would lead me to improve my skills and qualities. Achieving bigger dreams require smaller steps and I look forward to pursuing a career in architecture
