ABOUT MARY SANCHEZ

My passion for events and leadership has led me to pursue a degree in business management and marketing at George Fox University. I aspire to work in the hospitality and tourism industry or event services industry. My time at George Fox has taught me many value business and communication skills. I learned the value of working as a team and how to be an effective leader. I have had the opportunity to develop professionally and receive a well-rounded business education, taking classes in seven different business fields. Growing up, I developed an eye for detail. I found planning and organizing an event to be fun. I found satisfaction in seeing an event through to completion. In high school, I had the opportunity to lead and organize a fundraiser with my senior class. Partnering with teachers and staff, my senior class and I hosted a successful fundraiser for the rest of our school (preschool through high school). I learned the importance of trusting your teammates and the value of clear and direct communication. My education and work experience has brought me closer to my vision of working as a leader in the hospitality or events industry. I have had the opportunity to develop and apply my skills. I am self-motivated and a hard worker in all tasks. I value meeting deadlines and striving for excellence. With great oral and written communication skills, I am better able to serve and collaborate with those around me. I am able to work in a team or independently; however, I value a team environment. My values and skills have led me to my mission to use my skills and talents to serve others in all that I do. Thank you!
