ABOUT SAMYAR ZABIHI
I bring over 12 years of hands-on experience gained at the Arak Oil Refinery Company as a production and process engineer. My roles have encompassed a wide spectrum, including pre-commissioning, commissioning, field operator, control room operator, senior operator, and senior process engineer. In various capacities, I have played pivotal roles in NHT, catalytic reforming and CCR units, Hydrogen and Hydrocracker. I played a key leadership role in establishing the second phase of Arak Refinery Company, focused on the production of high-quality petrol by managing complex startups often in challenging conditions. In addition to this, I led a similar project at Esfahan Refinery Company.My experience also extends to being a Senior Engineer in the Department of Process Engineering, where I handled critical units like Hydrocracker, Hydrogen, NHT, and catalytic reforming. As a Senior Process Engineer, I specialized in process monitoring, troubleshooting, plant revamping, and simulation, utilizing tools such as Aspen HYSYS and PetroSim.I am actively involved as a member of the catalyst committee, responsible for decisions related to catalyst selection, evaluation, loading, and unloading across all units. This has provided me with comprehensive knowledge of various catalysts and their applications in the oil refinery industry. I\'ve also played a role in optimizing catalyst usage, particularly in the Hydrogen Unit.Beyond my industry contributions, my research aligns well with the thriving bioenergy sector. My work focuses on biomass conversion into valuable bioproducts and biofuels, contributing to sustainability and innovation in this field.I also pursue a Ph.D. at the University of Boras within the Swedish Center of Resource Recovery, in the Department of Energy Technology. My research revolves around the co-pyrolysis of waste and biomass to yield biofuel, syngas, and biochar, aligning with the university\'s commitment to resource recovery and sustainable practices.
