I have over 15 years of experience building, running, and analyzing experiments in governing the potential harms from emerging technology, particularly biotechnology. From the lab to the nation to international organizations, I have led and been part of teams that are rewriting the ways we understand how to be concerned about emerging technology and who has responsibility for doing something about it.Academically, my work draws on and contributes to the literature on classification, boundary work, international political/technological institutions, and the co-production of social and technological systems.We are in a moment of grand transition in our societies. I want to help build and then make real the vision for what we may become.
