ABOUT SAMUEL WALKER
I\'m a customer education professional at Safe Software. I develop training for the FME data integration platform, which can translate between over 500 data formats, including CAD, GIS, BIM, database, web, XML, point cloud, raster, and more. I\'ve delivered live online training to thousands of customers and launched the FME Academy, allowing data integration professionals to level up their skills on their own schedule.I also teach in the City Program at Simon Fraser University, focusing on teaching professionals in urban planning and cognate disciplines how to use data analysis and visualization to solve challenging problems. I completed my Ph.D. in Human Geography at the University of Toronto. I’m trained as an urban environmental geographer with interests in the politics of sustainability, environmental governance, and GIS. My dissertation research examined vacant land reuse in Cleveland, Ohio, focusing on community-nonprofit-state relations.
