About Samuel Sperindeo
I design, test, and bring to market autonomous flying systems—UAS, drones, and robotic aircraft. My work spans flight testing, systems engineering, and operations, with a strong record of delivering complex programs from concept to commercial deployment.I began working on highly autonomous UAS in 2008, making me part of the first wave of innovators in the sector. As Systems Engineer and later Chief Test Engineer, I led all testing activities—developmental, customer-facing, and regulatory—while also flying as a test and commercial pilot, training customers, and supporting field operations. I delivered the first UAS approved for commercial use in Italy, deployed across urban, industrial, and rural environments.Sample video → 2014, I joined Amazon Prime Air as the first employee in the Cambridge (UK) office. I built the Flight Operations team from the ground up and led all flight testing that enabled the first customer delivery trial as Chief Flight Test Engineer.Video → 2017, I relocated to the United States to build and manage the Flight Test Engineering organization for Prime Air. My team leads all developmental and qualification flight testing, validating new aircraft, systems, and automation for large-scale operations.
