About Samuel Borer
I have been pulled in many directions throughout my life, always centred around two questions: what makes life meaningful? And-more importantly to my current professional pursuits-how does a meaningful life end meaningfully? This pursuit has led me down varied yet interconnected paths. It began with an intense training background in dance at a performing arts conservatory. I was then led into the oft-conflicting paths of an academic pursuit of physics and maths and my military service in counter-terrorism and counterproliferation of weapons of mass destruction. After a short detour into the world of congressional politics, I found my profession in the world of medicine and thanatology. In this work, I am dedicated to applying medical philosophy and ethics pragmatically and attempting to make it accessible and relevant to our lives and deaths. I strongly believe in bridging the gap between abstract theory and practical application in healthcare. My ambition is to integrate my passions for art, science, and existential inquiries to further probe those two fundamental questions that have driven my life\'s work.
