About Samuel Franklin

Diversity: I surround myself with people from diverse backgrounds. This has helped me gain different perspectives, more well-rounded viewpoints, and a stronger sense of being. I embrace the differences that make us all unique, and I believe different viewpoints and perspectives generate different outcomes. Through playing sports, taking Honors classes, and participating in youth groups, I have surrounded myself with many different types of people. Team Player: I collaborate well with other people, and I always strive to put the team’s success ahead of my own. When working in group projects, I am easy-going and get along well with people while also holding team members accountable. When I played basketball during high school, sometimes I was the best player, and other times, I did not play at all. However, in both roles, I pushed my teammates as hard as possible to be the best they could be, ultimately resulting in my team winning the state championship my senior year. Persistence: I am persistent, and I have learned to never give up when things get difficult. Due to my competitive nature, I enjoy taking on challenges and striving for success. During my first semester of freshman year, I took Calculus and did very poorly on the first exam. However, I persevered and went to tutoring Monday-Thursday for the rest of the semester and ended up receiving an A in the course.
