I am involved in various scientific projects at the Zhang Lab, supporting different teams. My main focus includes:(1) the biochemical, structural characterization, and application of novel programmable RNA-guided endonucleases, such as Fanzor, TnpB, and Cas13-related proteins, and (2) the development of a virus-like particle (VLP) delivery system optimized to minimize immune responses and deliver larger cargo. This work spans molecular biology, biochemistry (protein expression and purification from bacterial, yeast, insect, and human cells), bioengineering, chemical biology, and immunology.
