ABOUT SAMUEL VELAZQUEZ
As part of the Trade team at Calgary Economic Development, I contribute to driving international business opportunities by supporting the planning and execution of trade-focused initiatives. My role includes organizing inbound and outbound trade delegations, coordinating local programming such as the Global Trade Classroom, Trade Accelerator Program (TAP), and International Financial Institutions (IFI) workshops, and providing key administrative and performance-tracking support. I work closely with the Trade Specialist to build and maintain a comprehensive export programming calendar in collaboration with the Government of Alberta, while also assisting in the successful execution of these programs. Additionally, I support the Director of Trade in aligning trade initiatives with broader business development goals across the organization to enhance Calgary’s global business connectivity.
