As a Disabled Veteran Outreach Program Specialist (DVOP) I am responsible for providing employment and training services to Veterans throughout the state, giving emphasis to disabled Veterans and Veterans with employment barriers. This position is also responsible for case management and facilitation of intensive services to Veterans with special employment and training needs in keeping with changes in Federal guidelines. As a DVOP, we also participate in outreach activities to locate Veterans through contacts with local veteran service organizations, the Veterans Administration and other state and local service agencies. I also assist the Northern Kentucky Career Center personnel with understanding and implementation of the United States Department of Labor (USDOL) Priority of Service policy for Veterans and covered persons.
