About Samuel Tiburcio

Hello! I am Samuel Tiburcio and I am currently a junior in the Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor\'s in Accounting and minoring in Information Technology and Systems. I am a proud member of the Professional Program in Accounting, Class 15. I will earn my Bachelors of Science in May 2023, Masters of Science in May 2024 and be CPA eligible in the spring of 2024. As a child, I\'ve always been fascinated with business, not so much with math. I hated math as a child but I was inspired to do better at it when I almost failed my final exam in 1st grade. Since then, I\'ve always had a passion for learning math and excelling at it. I was also interested in business as a child. Business was very interesting to me because I\'ve seen the best and the worst of it while living in a third-world country. Businesses have so much power over people, sometimes even having that power extend to the government. It came to my senses that there was something that controls businesses, and I firmly believe that it is money. I believe that the management of a company\'s financial well-being is crucial for its growth and sustainability. I wanted to be involved in the management of a company\'s financial accounting, and that\'s where I merge my love for math and business: accounting. So why ITS? We live in an age where technology is an integral element to businesses. Technology can be used to immensely help a business with analytics and it can be used as a predictive tool, which helps businesses create forecasts. I believe having this skill along with my bachelor\'s in accounting will truly help me become an influence to whatever company I work for. I also want to use my expertise in these fields to help those who are underprivileged, mainly Southeast Asian countries. Having lived in the Philippines influenced my passion to help those who are in need. I\'m excited for what the future holds, and I hope to expand my network and skills during this journey.
