ABOUT SAMUEL THROWER
Junior Software Developer with 3 Years of industry experience. Most recently working on the Post Trade Team at Bank of America in their London office. I am currently a freelance developer and tutor, teaching a wide range of languages, theoretical and practical computing concepts to an array of students whilst abroad in New Zealand. I have a hardened industry-level practical knowledge of Scala, Java, Jenkins (CI/CD), Ansible Tower and Python.Graduated from the University of Leicester achieving a First Class Honours in a BSc Computer Science degree in 2022. I worked for Bank of America between 2022 and 2025. I made the decision to move abroad shortly after the end of my contract and have been working heavily on personal projects and as a tutor whilst living abroad as a digital nomad. I am very open to opportunities to work in the Financial Sector.I have years of experience with Scala, Python, Java and HTML/CSS/JS alongside usage of Wireshark, Postman and Spring Boot. My most recent role required an extensive and certified knowledge of Scala and Financial Trading Systems. I also have extensive, professional knowledge of Data Analysis, Web Development and UI, Artificial Intelligence, Algorithm Design and Cyber Security.My industry exposure so far has allowed me to further learn about deployment pipelines using Horizon CI, Jenkins2 and Ansible playbooks. I completed a month-long Scala language course prior to beginning my first placement with Bank of America (London, UK) and was awarded a certification acknowledging my proficiency with the language. I have since developed many skills, such as Git, Jenkins & Ansible Tower/RedHat CI/CD and many Java and Scala frameworks and packages. I have become more familiar with the agile methodology alongside developing my ability to work independently or within a team.
