We are all born to learn. It is through learning that we understand the world, build capacity, and empower ourselves. My time growing up living in eight different places has given me insight into the role in how culture shapes people’s view of the world, including how they learn.It is this intersection of culture and education that fascinates me, and has driven my professional career. From finding teaching opportunities by the river where people like to congregate in my village in South Africa, to finding different means to engage the Peace Corps headquarters and its international staff, I am always looking at context to help maximize my educational impact.
