About Samuel Stimple
I am passionate about the fields of antibody drug discovery and process development in the biopharmaceutical arena. My research as an undergraduate at The University of Notre Dame dealt with the development of a novel antibody purification platform technology. My dissertation research in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at The Ohio State University involved protein engineering for the development of self-cleaving affinity tags that can be used for isolation of non-mAb proteins of interest. I also constructed and characterized synthetic biology tools (small RNAs) for applications in RNA-and-metabolic engineering. As a postdoctoral fellow in the Tessier lab at The University of Michigan, my research focused on the discovery and characterization of highly-specific monoclonal antibodies with applications in detection, diagnostics, imaging, and therapy.
