I am currently employed as an Associate within the Business Crime Department at BCL Solicitors LLP. I have considerable experience representing individuals in complex criminal investigations brought by the SFO, FCA and CMA, and have expertise advising in relation to offences under the Bribery Act, Fraud Act and, Market Abuse (including layering and spoofing) and Cartel offences under the Enterprise Act. I am further experienced in providing representation in relation to criminal and civil investigations brought by HMRC. I am able to advise in relation to appeals against assessments to the FTT (Tax Chamber) and have particular expertise in disputes as to residence under the SRT. I regularly represent individuals designated under the Russia (Sanctions)(EU Exit) Regulations 2019 who have been made subject to asset freezes. I have experience both in regards to challenging FCDO designations as well as advising and assisting clients in relation to the licensing regime. I have particular expertise in relation to Judicial Review, and often advise in relation to public law challenges on the grounds of illegality, and irrationality arising in the context of sanctions. I have an interest in all areas of information law, and I am able to advise in relation to UK GDPR.
